ERDN Pi-Star D-Star Setup

First, open up the Configuration screen

Next, make sure that the D-Star mode is selected under the MMDVM Configuration screen

Then, click on the Apply Changes button. Pi-Star will update your configuration in the background and then reload the Configuration screen

Scroll down to the D-Star Configuration section and set the following:

  • RPT1 Callsign: For a modem that operates on the 70cm band, choose B. For a modem that operates on the 2m band, choose C
  • RPT2 Callsign: This cannot be changed and should read G
  • Remote Password: Ignored by the XRF reflector. If you have issues connecting, you may also try the default password "passw0rd" with no quotes
  • Default Reflector: Choose XRF337 C
  • ircDDBGateway Language: Set this to your preferred language
  • Time Announcements: Set to On for hourly time announcements to your radio
  • Use DPlus for XRF: Set to Off, this is not used for ERDN

Once these settings are configured, click the Apply Changes button. Pi-Star will update your configuration in the background and then reload the Configuration screen

When Pi-Star reloads your configuration and is connected to the Internet, you should hear your radio say "Linked to (REFLECTOR)". In the example provided above, you would hear "Linked to X R F 3 3 7 Charlie"

Click on the Dashboard link

And check to make sure you are connected to the XRF Master

You are now ready to talk on the ERDN DV network.
